About the Role: We’re looking for a proactive Midweight Back-End Developer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience to help support and maintain the websites we develop. You’ll work with our Client Support team day-to-day, with support from the wider Technical team, including our Senior developers. Our aim is to deliver high-quality code, so it is important to understand best-practice code structure, as well as performance and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Problem solving skills.
- Write clean, scalable, maintainable code following team conventions and best practices.
- Ensure that tasks are completed on time and to specification and are performant and secure.
- Participate in regular code reviews and take and give feedback constructively.
- Contribute to technical planning, estimation, progress meetings, and standards.
- Stay curious and engaged with new back-end tools and technologies.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3 years of professional back-end development experience.
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code in C# with an understanding of MVC architecture.
- Experience with Umbraco and Optimizely CMS.
- Familiarity with version control (GIT) and common workflows (feature branches, pull requests).
- Experience with profiling and troubleshooting applications.
- Familiarity with the Azure Portal.
- SQL Management Studio and basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- An understanding of good security practice, including OWASP vulnerabilities.
- An understanding of the blue-green deployment model.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience using security testing tools.
- Node / JavaScript familiarity.
