About the Role

We are recruiting a Deputy Manager to support our Registered Manager within a 1-bedded therapeutic EBD Children’s Home in Derby.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-manage home budgets and resources efficiently
  • Oversee staff development, supervision, and appraisals
  • Support and guide the care team in delivering therapeutic parenting approaches
  • Maintain and update placement plans, risk assessments, and care records
  • Promote the wellbeing, growth, and independence of young people in placement
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing or supervising staff in a children’s residential setting
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent (Level 4+ desirable)
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and trauma-informed practice
  • Full UK driving licence (essential, due to on‑call requirements)
  • Flexibility to work long shifts, weekends, and sleep‑ins
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
