We’re looking for a Property Accounts Executive. If you already work in property accounts, client accounts, lettings or property management and want a role where you can take genuine ownership, while still being part of a close-knit team, we'd love to hear from you.
The role involves taking responsibility for the day-to-day financial operation of our managed property portfolio. In simple terms: making sure rent comes in, the right people get paid, arrears are chased, property bills are dealt with and the numbers are accurate.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reconciling rent and client money
- Processing landlord payments and statements
- Monitoring and actively chasing rent arrears
- Processing contractor and supplier payments
- Managing service charge, utilities, council tax and other property expenditure
- Investigating missing or incorrectly allocated payments
- Answering landlord queries regarding rent, deductions and payments
- Working with property managers on arrears and tenancy issues
- Identifying when arrears need escalating for formal action
- Maintaining accurate financial records across the portfolio
We use PayProp for our client accounting, so previous PayProp experience would be helpful but it isn't essential.
Who we're looking for: We’re more interested in relevant property experience and attitude than formal accounting qualifications. Ideally, you’ll have experience within a letting agency, property management business or property/client accounts team and understand how money moves between tenants, landlords, contractors and managing agents.
You’ll be:
- Confident working with numbers and reconciliations
- Highly organised and accurate
- Comfortable chasing tenants for overdue rent
- Confident discussing financial queries with landlords
- Familiar with rent arrears and tenancy processes
- Able to understand when arrears may require notices or possession action
- Proactive about investigating and solving discrepancies
- Comfortable taking ownership of your workload
And, importantly, you’ll genuinely enjoy working as part of a team. This is paramount to us. You’ll work closely with our lettings and property management teams every day. We want someone who communicates, asks questions, shares information, helps colleagues and enjoys solving problems together.
What this role isn't: This isn't a traditional bookkeeping or corporate accounting position. You won't be responsible for VAT returns, payroll, statutory accounts or company bookkeeping. Your focus is the financial side of our managed properties: Rent in. Money out. Arrears controlled. Records accurate. Landlords informed.
What we're offering: 3 days working from home, 2 days with the team in Sale, Monday-Friday with some flexibility by discussion. Genuine opportunity to progress as the portfolio grows.
