Business Intelligence Analyst Duties:
- You will extract, analyse and visualise data from multiple sources, creating clear reports and interactive dashboards that support both strategic and operational decision making.
- You’ll identify trends and opportunities to improve business performance, ensure outputs are accurate and reliable, and translate stakeholder needs into practical, data-led solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain regular and ad-hoc reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Interpret complex data and present findings in a clear and actionable format.
- Dashboard Development
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using SSRS, Power BI & Excel.
- Create visualisations that enable stakeholders to understand performance and make informed decisions.
- Ensure reports are accurate, reliable, and aligned with business requirements.
- Database & Data Management
- Write, optimise, and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
- Extract, transform, and validate data from multiple systems and databases.
- Support data quality initiatives and identify opportunities to improve data integrity.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with operational teams, management, and senior leaders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve efficiency.
- Support the implementation of data governance and best practice reporting standards.
- Contribute to the development of the organisation’s BI and analytics strategy.

- Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance optimisation.
- Experience of SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
- Analytical Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to identify trends and convert data into actionable insights.
- Experience producing management information and performance reporting.
- Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Desirable Skills
- Experience using Power BI, including data modelling, DAX measures and calculations, Power Query, dashboard and report development.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formula.
- Data analysis and visualisation experience.
- Experience working with relational databases and large datasets.
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of Python, R, VBA, C# or other analytics tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Experience in a contact centre, tolling, or operational environment.
