ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting new opportunity created to support the continued development and growth of our US team and client base, working closely with our US colleagues while being fully supported by our experienced UK team. As a Junior Account Executive, you’ll learn about all aspects of medical communications while gaining hands‑on experience across the business. With the support of experienced team members, a dedicated buddy and your manager, you’ll develop the knowledge and confidence needed to grow in the role and build a strong understanding of how different departments work together to deliver for our clients.

In this role, you’ll support the planning and delivery of a range of account activities, helping teams coordinate timelines, organise meetings, track actions and keep projects running smoothly. You’ll work closely with internal teams to support the preparation of client materials and contribute to the day‑to‑day management of projects, ensuring high‑quality deliverables are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of our clients.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Provide support to client services team members in the development and delivery of account activities for external customers
  • Attend client teleconferences and, where appropriate, meetings alongside other members of the account or project team
  • Maintain client contact, as appropriate, with the direction of other members of the account team
  • Take responsibility for delivering assigned account activities, supporting the coordination of project timelines and schedules alongside the Account Manager
  • Keep the Account Manager updated on progress, and work with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered smoothly and on time
  • Develop and maintain an overview of project budgets, tracking them regularly to ensure the cost‑effective delivery of projects and reviewing them regularly with the Account Manager to identify any issues
  • Undertake background research and assist with the development of new business and current account proposals where appropriate
  • Assist the Account Manager in the identification of any potential needs of existing clients
  • Become familiar with the therapeutic areas of projects and develop an understanding of client objectives in addition to growing an understanding of pharmaceutical communications strategies and industry
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels within the company

  • Bachelor’s degree in medicine, life sciences, marketing or another relevant area
  • Experience in participating and collaborating within teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, managers and clients
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Flexible personality and a quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including developing customer service skills
  • Strong capacity for understanding financial activities
  • Good problem‑solving skills
