The Management Accountant will be responsible for owning and analysing the site P&L, providing deep financial insight to drive profitability and operational performance. This role partners closely with production, operations, logistics, and sales teams to identify margin erosion, challenge cost drivers, and implement practical, data-led improvements. The role is hands-on, commercially focused, and central to decision-making on site.
Responsibilities
- Own and analyse the site P&L, identifying loss-making activities, margin erosion, and improvement opportunities
- Conduct detailed cost analysis across production, operations, logistics, and sales to identify efficiencies and savings
- Translate financial analysis into clear, practical, and actionable recommendations for operational teams
- Act as a key finance business partner to operations, working closely with the Head of Operations to drive profitability improvements
- Support budgeting, deliver accurate forecasting, and provide insightful performance reporting
- Challenge assumptions and investigate variances to ensure robust financial understanding
- Lead, direct, and mentor a direct report, or provide leadership at an equivalent cross-functional level
- Support strategic initiatives through strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ideally CIMA)
- Strong experience in management accounting, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent P&L ownership and analysis skills with a strong commercial mindset
- Proven experience partnering with operational teams to drive financial and operational performance
