Senior EMC Engineer
Job role overview:
Working within the Electrical/ Electronic systems team, the EMC Engineer/ Senior Engineer role is responsible for ensuring EMC compliance of our electronic systems. You will work closely with Component Engineers, T&D (Test & Development), MBSE team, Vehicle project teams, Suppliers, and our Quality dept. to ensure global EMC compliance is met for all of the business products. Senior Engineers are expected to have significantly more experience, be capable of mentoring engineers, chair work product reviews meetings within the Company, peer review & sign off work products etc. and in some instances, as required deputise for the Lead Engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical lead for EMC.
Develop & Manage EMC specifications and documentation
Leading to ensure our components conform to the applicable standards and
requirements
Manage component EMC database (in conjunction with Component Engineers)
Manage EMC test plans with suppliers to meet stage gate deliverables
supporting reviews where necessary.
Develop and follow best practice working procedures to support EMC activities.
Create EMC KPIs for component EMC compliance status and publish to EES leadership
team on a regular basis (monthly) for each project.
Where necessary support component hardware reviews with suppliers
Promote EMC awareness across the Business & support training for new starters where
# necessary.
Chair an internal EMC working Group with key stakeholders to ensure our EMC
approach is kept robust and applicable.
Support Whole vehicle EMC testing where necessary alongside our T&D team.
Qualifications:
BEng or MEng in Electrical / Electronic engineering, Physics or Systems Engineering, and proven relevant experience.
Working knowledge of global applicable EMC standards (UNECE Reg10, CISPR, ISO, FCC, GB/T)
Experience:
Essential
Significant relevant experience in EMC within the automotive industry. Similar role outside automotive would be considered.
Experience of vehicle electrical architectures based upon on CAN based systems highly desirable.
Experience of full product lifecycle from concept through to vehicle launch.
Experience of delivering electrical systems/ components

Working with and managing suppliers
Experience of working with EMC toolsets, simulation etc.
Experience of I.T based systems for tracking tasks/ actions (JIRA, Excel, Word, Project)
Experience of design for EMC best practice (PCB, Hardware, filters, suppression etc)
