A bit about the role ... The overarching responsibility of the Health & Safety Advisor is to provide an in-house capability that supports XD to comply with all relevant regulations and procedures. The Health & Safety Advisor should promote our health and safety culture and processes and, where necessary or appropriate, should look to improve these in the daily operation of the business. The Health & Safety Advisor will report into the Health & Safety Manager. The Advisor should also work with, and alongside, project teams to assist with the management and coordination of safety on specific projects. Additionally, the Advisor will work with XD contractors or suppliers to meet our safety management expectations.
What will you do ...
- Provision of health and safety advice for the day-to-day operations within XD
- Work with project teams to assess project risks and provide advice, with a focus on Event Production, Environments and Film Production
- National and international travel, assisting with the onsite management and delivery of projects (generally up to 2 weeks maximum per project)
- Assisting in the development and review of internal guidance and information for employees and suppliers
- Working with XD suppliers to build upon existing relationships and provide support in meeting the business and client's health & safety expectations
- Perform project safety audits to highlight the business safety performance, and highlight areas for improvement
- Assisting in the development and delivery of internal company wide training programmes
- Support the development and distribution of internal communications
- Work with third-party health & safety suppliers / consultants to ensure a consistent safety management approach across all projects
- Support the Office Team with maintaining health and safety compliance across XD's facilities
- Manage the incident management system and advise the company to any learnings following an incident or accident
- Reflect the agency's values and culture
- Actively promote XD's services internally & externally
What do you need to have ...
- Qualified to at least NEBOSH National General Certificate
- Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH)
- Preferable experience of working in the live events, exhibitions or entertainment sector
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi-discipline teams
- A valid passport to allow international travel
- A desire to continue to drive the health and safety culture with a solutions driven attitude to health and safety
