Role Description
This full-time Technical Manager role is a 6‑month fixed term contract based on-site in Corby, with a total salary of £26,000 for the six-month period. The Technical Manager will oversee day-to-day technical and quality activities, ensuring products meet food safety, legal, and customer standards. Responsibilities include managing technical documentation, supporting audits, handling customer and supplier technical queries, and maintaining specifications, HACCP plans, and quality systems. The role will coordinate investigations into quality or safety issues, drive corrective and preventive actions, and support continuous improvement projects in line with business needs. The Technical Manager will work closely with production, R&D, and commercial teams to support new product introductions and maintain strong technical governance on-site.

- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making on quality and safety issues.
- Candidates should possess effective Team Management abilities to coordinate technical activities, support colleagues, and foster collaboration across departments.
- Candidates should possess solid Technical Support experience to address product and process queries, troubleshoot issues on-site, and respond to customer and supplier requirements.
- Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) experience to support new product development, technical validation, and implementation of process improvements.
- Candidates should possess proven Project Management skills to plan, track, and deliver technical and quality initiatives within agreed timelines.
- Relevant experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or technical roles within FMCG is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of food safety systems (e.g., HACCP, GMP, BRCGS or equivalent) and regulatory requirements is desirable.
- A relevant qualification in food science, technology, or a similar discipline is advantageous, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
