The company has phase I through post‑marketing experience across anterior segment and retina trials, and holds expertise in clinical ophthalmology, optometry, and clinical trial methodology.
Primary Purpose
The Ophthalmic Certification Project Manager (OCPM) is a matrix leader of a vendor project team, serving as the client‑facing internal lead for biopharmaceutical‑sponsored clinical trials. The OCPM ensures effective project delivery in accordance with contracted timelines and budgets, driving team and financial efficiency, work‑product quality, and client satisfaction through strong relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for biopharma clients, demonstrating proficiency in client needs.
- Ensure that project deliverables are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Develop successful working relationships with clients, executive management, and project staff; collaborate to manage issues, proactively identify risks, and drive milestone achievement.
- Track project deliverables against contract; prepare and present study metrics to maintain transparency for internal and external stakeholders; monitor trends and adjust plans as needed, agreeing to mitigation plans with the team and presenting to the client.
- Ensure adherence to quality control expectations and milestone timelines for delivery of contractually required reports and deliverables.
- Identify and manage changes to scope and requests for out‑of‑scope activities; collaborate with business development, contracts, and executive management to ensure timely execution of contract amendments or change orders, proactively managing client expectations.
- Identify and document lessons learned from study successes and challenges to promote best practices.
- Model and promote Emmes’ commitment to a culture of quality, utilizing a solution‑based, science‑driven, value‑added approach in collaborating with clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of related experience demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
- Experience with the MS Office Suite.
- Strong time‑management, decision‑making, and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Some knowledge of clinical trials in ophthalmology is preferred.
- Occasional travel may be required on an ad‑hoc basis.
