This is a full‑time, on‑site role based at Emmersons Solicitors Limited in Sunderland or Newcastle Upon Tyne. The successful candidate will manage a caseload appropriate to their experience, including taking initial instructions, advising clients, drafting documents and representing clients, where necessary, at court. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include preparing legal correspondence, liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and other parties and ensuring that all matters progress efficiently and in line with regulatory and firm standards. The role also involves accurate file management, time recording, and compliance with professional and data protection obligations. The successful candidate will contribute to business development activities, maintain strong client relationships, and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high‑quality legal services.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate, and experience in family and/or private client.
  • Paralegal, Solicitor Apprentice or Graduate Apprentice SQE with experience of family and/or private client who is a self‑starter eager to qualify as a Solicitor.
