Smailes Goldie has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Manager to join the firm's Selby office as part of a succession plan. Joining an established senior management team, you will work and develop a diverse portfolio of clients, playing a key role in delivering high-quality work whilst supporting the development of junior team members. What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements for companies, partnerships, sole traders, and trusts
  • Manage and support trainees, providing coaching, guidance, and technical development
  • Assist with day-to-day client queries and actively seek to develop relationships
  • Collaborate closely with tax and audit departments when required
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed deadlines
  • Represent the firm professionally in all written and verbal communications
  • Engage in continuous personal and professional development through ongoing training and technical learning

What you’ll bring:

  • Accounts Manager experience, ACA or ACCA qualified, used to managing your own client portfolio
  • Several years' experience within an accountancy practice environment
  • Experience with software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and IRIS (advantageous)
