Smailes Goldie has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Manager to join the firm's Selby office as part of a succession plan. Joining an established senior management team, you will work and develop a diverse portfolio of clients, playing a key role in delivering high-quality work whilst supporting the development of junior team members. What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements for companies, partnerships, sole traders, and trusts
- Manage and support trainees, providing coaching, guidance, and technical development
- Assist with day-to-day client queries and actively seek to develop relationships
- Collaborate closely with tax and audit departments when required
- Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed deadlines
- Represent the firm professionally in all written and verbal communications
- Engage in continuous personal and professional development through ongoing training and technical learning
What you’ll bring:
- Accounts Manager experience, ACA or ACCA qualified, used to managing your own client portfolio
- Several years' experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Experience with software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and IRIS (advantageous)
