Fabrication Estimator The estimator’s role is to calculate and predict the costs associated with an engineering job or project, including materials, labour, equipment, consumables and other expenses. They will analyse project plans, technical drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and required resources. They will also gather quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, assess project risks, and prepare bids and quotations liaising with colleagues throughout the business and effectively utilise our Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). Key Responsibilities: The Fabrication Estimator will be the Fabrication Department’s lead for collating pricing proposals for standard jobs and larger projects. This will include the following: * Project Scope: Analyse project plans, technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to understand the scope of work. * Cost Analysis: Determine the cost of materials, labour, equipment, and other expenses for a job/project. * Quote Gathering: Research and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for necessary materials and services. * Risk Assessment: Assess financial, technical, and operational risks associated with a project and clearly articulate where required to the Leadership Team. * Bidding and Quotation: Prepare proposals/bids and quotations for new jobs, contracts and projects. * Cost Control: Monitor project…
