WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT * This is more than a management position—it’s an opportunity to influence the full engineering lifecycle, from initial design through to testing and final delivery to customers worldwide. * Work closely with cross-functional teams across foundry, machining, assembly and testing. * Ensure compliance with key industry standards and certifications, including ISO, PED, ASME, ATEX and API. * Make a direct impact on product quality, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency within a technically demanding environment. * Lead and develop an engineering team that includes graduates and apprentices. * Join an experienced, supportive and close-knit management team. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING * Managing the Design and Technical Engineering team, providing the product designs and technical data required by manufacturing operations. * Overseeing the full lifecycle of engineering projects, from order acceptance through to delivery, while meeting technical specifications and customer requirements. * Responding to technical queries from internal stakeholders and external customers. * Supporting production areas, including foundry, machining, assembly and testing, by troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. * Ensuring products comply with relevant industry standards and certifications, including ISO, PED, ASME, ATEX and API. * Contributing to research, development and innovation initiatives in collaboration with Valvitalia’s corporate strategy and innovation teams. * Collaborating with senior management colleagues and providing regular updates to the General Manager and Director. WHAT YOU’LL BRING * Strong leadership, people-management and technical capabilities. * Knowledge of or experience with valves or similar engineered products. * A collaborative and results-focused management style, with the ability to develop people and drive performance. * Proven experience managing complex workloads and delivering against customer requirements without compromising quality. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers and customers. * Strong problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to analyse technical issues and implement practical solutions. * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), safety and HSE principles. * Proficiency in CAD, Autodesk Inventor, CFD and other relevant engineering tools. * Experience within an engineering or make-to-order manufacturing environment.
