Sussex Emmaus is recruiting a Volunteer Manager to play a key role in supporting our mission by developing and maintaining a strong and effective volunteer programme.

CLOSING DATE: 13 June 2026

LOCATION: Sussex Emmaus, Portslade, Brighton

SALARY: £25,706

WORK LOCATION: On Site

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train and support volunteers, ensuring they have a positive and meaningful experience while contributing to the organisation’s goals.
  • Lead outreach initiatives, partnership working and manage recruitment processes, including interviews and background checks.
  • Deliver inductions and ongoing training, and match volunteers to suitable opportunities across the organisation.
  • Manage volunteer schedules, monitor performance and wellbeing, and foster a welcoming and inclusive volunteer culture through regular communication and recognition initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records, report on volunteer impact to stakeholders, collaborate closely with managers and teams, and represent Sussex Emmaus at community events and engagement activities.

Hours & Working Arrangements:

The role is 31 hours per week with days and times to be agreed on appointment. Flexible working is available, subject to the requirements of the role and we operate Tuesday to Saturday.
