We’re looking for a part-time kitchen supervisor with a difference; could it be you? Are you passionate about cooking, supporting others, and making a positive impact in your community? Emmaus Leeds is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Supervisor to join our team in the heart of Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside formerly homeless adults, known as companions, teaching them essential kitchen skills, promoting good hygiene practices, and helping them prepare nutritious, delicious meals.
You will work alongside companions, teaching them cooking skills, fostering confidence in the kitchen, and helping them develop important life skills that can support their personal growth and journey towards independence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and training residents to cook and prepare two meals a day, Monday to Friday
- Ensuring that all kitchen operations comply with food hygiene and safety standards
- Ordering food and managing kitchen stock in line with the budget
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and health and safety regulations
- The ability to work within a budget while still delivering tasty and nutritious meals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse team
- Minimum qualification required is Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate
Emmaus Leeds is an established charity supporting people affected by homelessness. Working together to end homelessness one person at a time. From our 25-bedroom residential community in Leeds city centre, we provide more than a home; companions receive food, facilities, and tailored support to move on from homelessness for good.
Your working days will be Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week, 10am to 2pm daily. We will be paying £13,438 per year (FTE £25,200) with annual reviews, plus a generous pension package and 25 days annual leave. This position is subject to a 4-month probationary period.
