Emmaus Oxford is looking for a new Trustee that brings knowledge and experience of social housing, with either a background in a Housing association or Local authority and property management.

This is an opportunity to play a vital role in supporting Emmaus Oxford to achieve its mission to overcome homelessness and effect social change. The Emmaus model means that trustees can meet the charities beneficiaries on a day-to-day basis and see the positive change in individuals directly. As a trustee you will have a real opportunity to share your knowledge and experience and influence the future development and expansion of a small but dynamic charity.

What are we looking for?

  • At least 3 years experience in a Social Housing management role for a Housing association or Local authority.
  • A good understanding of Housing Benefit and social rents.
  • Knowledge of supporting vulnerable people.
  • Need to be an empathic, understanding person who is a team player and enjoys working with a diverse range of people.

What will you be doing?

With the pending introduction of a Supported Housing Regulatory Framework and licensing regime we are looking for someone who can help guide us through the consultation and introduction of these major changes in the sector. We are looking for an individual who has at least 3 years experience working in social housing and property management, particularly the supported housing sector and with knowledge and understanding of Housing benefit, social care and support.
