St Michael’s is an outstanding, vibrant, oversubscribed coeducational 11‑19 College that seeks excellence in all areas of the school. As an authentic Catholic community, relationships with students and their families are integral to the success of every individual, as well as the belief that there are no limits to a child’s potential. Indeed, we aim to foster academic and personal success in a rigorous learning community and in a culture which is based on faith, reason and intellect.
We are therefore seeking to appoint a practising Catholic Principal who is highly ambitious for students, a strategic thinker with proven senior leadership credentials. Indeed, we seek a leader with the energy, passion and resilience to transform students’ lives through education. This post is an opportunity for an ambitious leader looking to extend their experience of Headship or start their first ‘Principalship’ in a highly serving Christian environment, where students and teachers matter.
This is an exciting time for St Michael’s. The College converted to Academy status in 2011, opened a sixth form in the same year and now has a composite and comprehensive post‑sixteen provision. As the Principal, you will be starting the school on a new journey; the recent and final physical build of the school will be complete, while from September 2017 the College will begin its expansion to 1,050 students. In shaping the future of the school, you would be supported by a very forward‑thinking governing body and imaginative and creative staff. Both make St Michael’s truly unique.
Our academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau. The successful candidate will be required to sign a Catholic Education Service contract.
