Emmaus Cambridge is recruiting a Senior Finance Officer to provide high-quality financial management, accounting and reporting across both the charity and its social enterprise. This work will enable us to make the best use of our resources and continue delivering vital support to our residents.

About the role

The main duties include responsibility for preparing monthly management accounts for both the charity and social enterprise. You’ll ensure compliance with financial regulations, Charity SORP and Companies House requirements. You’ll also manage the purchase and sales ledgers for the social enterprise, and credit control for Emmaus Cambridge.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified or part-qualified accountant. You will have experience of working in a not-for-profit or small/medium-sized business environment. We also offer study support towards achieving a professional accounting qualification. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to share financial data with nonfinance staff and trustees to support strategic decision‑making and effective budget control.

Ultimately, we are looking for someone who can join our team to support our financial management and reporting. You will be approachable, personable and able to build a positive rapport while maintaining professionalism.

TYPE: Full-time 37.5 hours per week

We’re here for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We see the person and their strengths – and help them get their life back on track, based on the future they want to create. As part of a nationwide movement of local Emmaus charities, we equip people with valuable skills, training and work experience to achieve their goals.

Our residents all have their own bedroom and enjoy delicious home‑cooked meals served in our communal dining room. Residents gain new skills and rebuild confidence and self‑esteem through work experience in our social enterprises.
