Term Time Plus 5 Additional Days, Monday – Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, 37.5 hours per week. We are seeking a committed and compassionate Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and Child Protection Officer to join our team. This is a vital role supporting the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people, working closely with staff, families and external agencies to ensure the highest standards of child protection.
Key Responsibilities and Qualities
- Has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to build positive, trusting relationships with students, families, staff and external agencies.
- Is an effective listener, able to respond to safeguarding concerns with empathy, professionalism and discretion.
- Can communicate confidently and sensitively with students, parents/carers and professionals, ensuring appropriate information sharing and effective partnership working.
- Is competent in managing safeguarding concerns and referrals, handling confidential and sensitive information, and maintaining accurate and timely records.
- Can support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in the implementation of safeguarding and child protection policies, procedures and best practice across the organisation.
- Is able to work collaboratively with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing guidance and support to staff and contributing to a strong safeguarding culture.
- Can remain calm, decisive and professional when dealing with safeguarding incidents, emergencies or complex situations, ensuring the welfare and best interests of children remain paramount at all times.
