The Role

We are seeking a senior or staff-level full stack software engineer with a strong background in data to join our Arlo Data Science & Engineering team. Arlo, a greenfield initiative at EML, seeks to consolidate several lines of business under a single modern architecture. In this role you will empower the business with the technology and tools needed to leverage data throughout the organization. This takes the form of deploying open-source BI tools and platforms, setting up streaming data collection and validation services, implementing 3rd-party analytic solutions, and assisting with data-centric migration tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals that believe in the power of data and enjoy the many facets of software development necessary to enable an organization to see its full data potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with our team’s Data Engineers to deploy and maintain internal data tools and platforms such as BI tools (such as Apache Superset) and cloud-based Jupyter Notebook collaboration environments.
  • Implement and maintain integrations with third-party data platforms and APIs.
  • Work with DevOps and platform engineers to support:
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Containerization and deployment via Kubernetes (AKS).
  • Monitoring via OTLP and Sumo Logic.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions with an emphasis on data security.
  • Assist our migration architect and data engineers as we move legacy products to our new technology stack.
  • Support documentation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of production systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering roles with experience building solutions end-to-end.
  • Experience deploying applications in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Fluent in REST API design and OpenAPI.
  • Have worked with more databases, data platforms, and analytic tools than you could count using both hands.
  • Comfortable researching and proposing solutions based on requirements and able to implement with minimal handholding.
  • Have worked on internal-facing CRUD apps and are familiar with front-end development. Able to make basic modifications to front-end components of open-source solutions.
  • Experience enabling data scientists and engineers with python-based development workflows and tooling.

Our Stack

  • C# with focus on .NET 10
  • Python
  • Snowflake (Data Warehouse)
  • Terraform
  • dbt
  • SQL Server (Prod applications)
