The Opportunity
We are looking for an all-round Junior Designer to join our growing team and create work you will be proud to showcase. From designing for our websites and journals to producing animations, videos, and infographics, you will have the chance to build a strong portfolio while shaping EMJ's digital presence. Who you are:
- Creative and Enthusiastic: You have a strong interest in digital and graphic design, with a developing portfolio that shows your creativity and passion for visual storytelling, especially in digital formats.
- Proficiency in Design Tools: You are familiar with Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Premiere), WordPress, and demonstrate layout skills for brochures, journals, or annual reports.
- Interest in Multimedia Design: You are eager to learn and grow your skills in video editing, motion graphics, or animation. Experience or interest in 3D modelling (e.g., Cinema 4D) is a bonus.
- Trend-Aware & Communicative: You are always abreast of the latest design trends and industry innovations.
- Self-Motivated & Deadline-Focused: You are self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative, and are able to deliver projects on time in a fast-paced environment.
What you will do:
- Support Publication Design: Assist the team in producing high-quality publication layouts and spreads across a variety of content types, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Email Campaign Support: Help deliver email campaigns such as newsletters, client eBlasts, and publication launch emails.
- Website Content Management: Upload and update content across our websites to keep them current and engaging.
- Video Editing Assistance: Support the editing process for short-form video content as needed.
- Social Media Design: Contribute to the creation of social media visuals that highlight and promote our publications.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to build a strong portfolio of creative, well-executed projects.
- Cross-Departmental Support: Assist with occasional in-house design projects for other departments when required.
- Proactive Creative Thinking: Bring new ideas to the table and suggest ways to improve the design and presentation of our content for clients and audiences.
Key Information
- Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Mon-Fri
- Working pattern: Up to 2 days flexibility to work from home (5 days a week in the office during probation)
- Location: London/Moorgate office
