We’re Looking for an Editorial Coordinator to Join Our Dynamic Publishing Team!
Are you passionate about medical publishing and ready to take the next step in your career? At EMJ, we’re looking for a proactive Editorial Coordinator to join our editorial team and help shape high-quality, impactful content.
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our publishing process, managing projects, liaising with departments, and ensuring the timely delivery of both commercial and editorial content. From commissioning articles to collaborating with our Design and Client Services teams, you’ll play a vital role in delivering journals that meet EMJ’s gold-standard quality.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing projects across departments to ensure smooth and timely publication of client and editorial content.
- Participating in client calls to align on project goals and timelines.
- Commissioning and managingjournal content and writing engaging features, congress reviews, news stories, and interview questions.
- Overseeing the peer review process to maintain editorial excellence.
- Attending international conferences to network, gather content ideas, and interview thought leaders.
- Coordinating the editorial team’s workload and mentoring new team members as needed.
- Forging strong relationships with Editorial Board members and contributors.
- Ensuring all content adheres to EMJ’s quality standards and established guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree in Life or Medical Sciences.
- At least 1 year of experience in scientific publishing.
- Exceptional English language and writing skills.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with confidence in networking.
- Enthusiasm and dedication as a team player with a passion for medical publishing.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage high-volume workloads under tight deadlines.
Key Information
- Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Mon-Fri
- Working pattern: Hybrid min 3 days in the office (FT in office during probation)
- Reporting to:Managing Editor
- Location: Our buzzing London/Moorgate office
We operate a hybrid working environment. We’d expect to see you in the office at least 3 days a week. During your probation, though, you’ll be in with us all five days—it’s the best way to get you up to speed and support your development.
