As our next Airport Services Officer you will need to support and coordinate frontline operations at London Gatwick, ensuring safe, efficient and customer‑focused service delivery. The role involves assisting with oversight of check‑in, boarding, baggage, ramp, lounges, hotel, and terminal control activities whilst contributing to staff support, resource utilisation, service recovery and continuous improvement.
A day in the life of our Airport Services Officer could involve:
- Coordinating frontline airport operations to support efficient, customer‑focused service delivery across key areas in the airport.
- Managing and supporting escalations related to policies and procedures.
- Supporting Supervisors and frontline teams by providing guidance, motivation and role‑modelling of service excellence. Promote engagement through feedback and continuous improvement, maintaining effective communication and coordination with duty teams to ensure alignment of priorities.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination during normal and disrupted operations.
- Monitoring adherence to safety, security and regulatory standards across all operational activities and intervening to address any gaps in standards.
Qualification
To Be Considered For This Role You Must Have:
- The unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
- Be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Able to provide a full five‑year history and pass a DBS, in order to obtain an airport security pass.
- At least three years experience of leading and managing teams in Airport Operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work shifts.
You Will Have An Edge If
- You have a strong understanding of airport procedures and systems, including IATA standards.
- You are analytical and enjoy solving problems with attention to detail.
- You can speak additional languages.
