We are now looking for an Airport Services Officer at Edinburgh Airport who will ensure a safe, efficient, cost‑effective and timely airport operation. By working with our Airport Services Manager you will maintain and enhance Emirates’ image, reputation and customer service levels.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Analyse anticipated operational problems such as overbookings, adverse weather conditions, delays, cancellations of flights, crew FTL, etc., and take necessary action to minimise disruption and protect the customer experience.
  • Ensure that handling agents, caterers and other service providers are fully briefed regarding Emirates requirements for the day’s operation, including any special handling, and update this information as necessary.
  • Control expenditure on damage baggage replacement and lost baggage claims; delegate some of the baggage claims processing to supervisors and agents, ensuring all baggage services aspects are processed effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Airport Services Manager in preparing and maintaining the staff roster and in preparing the staff annual leave plan, ensuring staffing levels are optimised.
  • Carry out various administrative duties delegated by the Airport Services Manager, including attending meetings and representing Emirates’ interests and requirements.
  • Assist the Airport Service Manager in conducting staff performance reviews (setting objectives and development plans) and coach staff members to maintain customer‑service and other standards such as uniform standards.
  • Manage and administer all operational/supervisory activities on a shift basis, ensuring appropriate control of processes related to document and information consolidation (revenue documents, cargo, handling reports, etc.) to safeguard revenues and operational data and avoid discrepancies.
  • Monitor all operational areas.
  • Undertake projects as advised by the Airport Services Manager in relation to operational standards and procedures, improving efficiency and quality of service delivered at the station.
  • Support the ASM in ERP (Emergency Response Planning) and other related tasks.
  • Ensure Passenger Service and Ground Operations Manual updates are communicated and adhered to, internally and by relevant service providers; promote a continuously improving culture of safety, with open reporting of safety deficiencies, human‑factor issues, and compliance with local laws.

Qualifications

  • The unrestricted right to live and work in the UK and be within a reasonable distance to Edinburgh Airport.
  • Ability to work a shift pattern.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in an airport, with 3 years as a Supervisor.
  • Provision of a full‑year history and DBS check to obtain an Airport Security Pass.
  • Willingness to spend up to three weeks for induction at our Aviation College in Dubai.
