Job Purpose

At Emirates, our Aircraft Technicians play a key role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of the Emirates fleet — including the world’s largest A380 and Boeing 777 operations — as well as third‑party aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and approved structural repairs on aircraft, engines, and components in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory procedures.
  • Perform component replacements and other maintenance activities as directed by the immediate supervisor or Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE).
  • Use and interpret approved documentation such as the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), and Component Maintenance Manual (CMM).
  • Assist Licensed Aircraft Engineers in aircraft walk‑around checks, troubleshooting, defect rectification, and modification work.
  • Follow all safety procedures for aircraft refuelling, fluid replenishment, and system charging/servicing.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by identifying and reporting potential hazards and ensuring work areas are clean, organised, and free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in all work locations, including ramp, stands, vehicles, and toolboxes.
  • Comply with airport safety regulations, maintain a valid airside driving permit, and adhere to all airside manoeuvring requirements.
  • Ensure prompt attendance to allocated tasks to maximise aircraft ground‑time efficiency and minimise operational delays.
  • Communicate any defects or technical findings to the LAE clearly and ensure smooth shift hand‑overs.
  • Support station material and stores audits to maintain Engineering Quality Compliance.

Our Ideal Aircraft Technician Will Have

  • Recognised aircraft maintenance qualification or apprenticeship.
  • Relevant experience within aircraft maintenance and repair. A380 experience in particular will catch our attention.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Familiarity with aviation safety standards, documentation, and quality systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, precision, and professionalism.

Things You Must Have To Be Considered

  • The unrestricted right to live and work in the UK; Emirates is not able to assist with sponsorships or visas.
  • A UK driving licence.
  • The ability to pass a five‑year history check including a criminal records check, to hold an airport pass.

Salary & Benefits

You will work with cutting‑edge aircraft while building a global career with an award‑winning airline. At London Heathrow you’ll join a fantastic team in one of our busiest stations outside of Dubai. Our teams work on a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern with no night shifts. We offer competitive salaries, shift pay, licence pay (if held), and other allowances. Each November a contractual one‑week salary bonus is awarded, increasing to two weeks after five years. Benefits include private health care, a health cash plan, staff travel from day one (up to 26 days plus bank holidays) and access to our global route and hotel network.
