Drive adviser performance. Strengthen protection outcomes. Build sustainable growth.

Are you an experienced mortgage and protection sales leader who can raise standards, coach managers and advisers, and turn commercial strategy into consistent results?

Eminent Financial Services is seeking a Mortgage & Protection Sales Manager to work closely with the Head of Sales & Operations, supporting Area Managers and their teams of self-employed advisers across the United Kingdom.

This is an influence-led leadership role.

Although the position has no direct reports, you will provide functional oversight, challenge and practical support across the mortgage and protection business, helping to increase mortgage completions, improve protection penetration, strengthen referrals to Wealth Advisers and raise adviser productivity.

About Eminent Financial Services

We're not your typical financial services business.

With over 80 advisers and ambitious plans for continued growth, we are building a business that creates genuine impact for our clients, advisers and communities.

Our mission is simple

To bridge the financial gap that exists within the UK's ethnic communities by providing accessible, high-quality mortgage and protection advice.

We combine technical expertise with emotional intelligence, cultural awareness and a genuine commitment to helping clients achieve better financial outcomes.

As part of The Openwork Partnership, the UK's largest financial advice network, we benefit from the support of more than 500 member firms and 4,500+ advisers nationwide while retaining the entrepreneurial culture of a growing business.

The Opportunity

The Mortgage & Protection Sales Manager will be central to improving commercial performance and leadership capability across the adviser network.

You will support Area Managers to manage performance effectively, coach advisers, address underperformance and deliver agreed business priorities.

The role combines sales leadership, performance management, coaching, recruitment support, onboarding, proposition development and cross-divisional collaboration.

It will suit someone who is credible with experienced advisers, comfortable working through influence and able to balance commercial ambition with strong regulatory and client-outcome standards.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing leadership, guidance and practical support to Area Managers responsible for Mortgage & Protection Adviser teams.
  • Helping Area Managers deliver regional sales targets, performance objectives and agreed adviser minimum standards.
  • Monitoring sales performance, pipeline and adviser productivity, identifying risks, trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Driving growth in mortgage completions, protection penetration, protection premium and overall revenue.
  • Embedding a protection-focused advice culture that improves client conversations, needs identification and outcomes.
  • Increasing structured referrals from Mortgage & Protection Advisers to the Wealth Advisory division and monitoring conversion.
  • Coaching and mentoring Area Managers and advisers, including support with complex cases, sales strategy and development planning.
  • Addressing underperformance through clear expectations, measurable actions, coaching and timely follow-up.
  • Supporting recruitment, induction and the early development of newly appointed advisers.
  • Promoting continuous professional development and effective use of available training and business-development resources.
  • Working with compliance, training and operations colleagues to support FCA and Consumer Duty requirements, advice quality and positive client outcomes.
  • Building effective relationships with lenders, protection providers, strategic partners and professional introducers.
  • What Success Looks Like
  • Improved mortgage completion volumes and stronger mortgage revenue.
  • Higher protection penetration and protection premium growth.
  • More consistent adviser activity, productivity and commercial performance.
  • Increased Wealth Advisory referral volumes and conversion rates.
  • Better quality performance management and coaching across Area Manager teams.
  • Strong adviser engagement, development and retention.
  • High standards of advice quality, regulatory conduct and client outcomes.

What We Offer

  • Visible influence: A pivotal role working directly with the Head of Sales & Operations and across the wider leadership structure.
  • A growth platform: The opportunity to help shape the performance culture of an ambitious national advice business.
  • Breadth and variety: A role spanning commercial delivery, manager support, adviser coaching, recruitment, onboarding and cross-divisional growth.
  • Network support: Access to lender and provider relationships, technology, training and resources through The Openwork Partnership.
  • Meaningful impact: The chance to improve both adviser success and the financial outcomes achieved for clients and communities.

About You

You will be a commercially focused sales leader with strong credibility in the UK mortgage and protection market.

Your style will be visible, supportive and appropriately challenging: able to improve performance, influence through others and maintain accountability without losing sight of advice quality, regulatory standards or sustainable client outcomes.

Essential Experience and Knowledge

  • Strong experience in UK mortgage and protection sales.
  • Experience supporting, coaching or managing advisers and/or sales managers.
  • A demonstrable record of improving sales performance, adviser productivity or protection penetration.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulation and Consumer Duty expectations relevant to mortgage and protection advice.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with confidence interpreting performance information and turning it into action.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to work through others, hold constructive performance conversations and maintain accountability.
  • A practical, organised and solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience within a mortgage network, financial-advice firm or wealth-management environment.
  • Experience working with self-employed adviser models.
  • Ce MAP or an equivalent mortgage qualification.
  • Experience supporting adviser recruitment, onboarding and early-stage development.
  • Why This Opportunity Is Different

Many sales-management roles are limited to reporting numbers after the event.

This role is designed to influence the inputs that create sustainable results: manager capability, adviser activity, coaching quality, protection conversations, referral discipline, onboarding and performance follow-through.

You will have the opportunity to help build a stronger, more consistent and more commercially effective adviser business while contributing to a mission that matters.
