Bespoke Luxury Retail Manager – Maternity Cover

Established in 2012, Emilia Wickstead offers Ready-To-Wear, Bridal, Made to Measure and Made to Order collections. This role focuses on bespoke design and client service, translating the brand’s image and quality standards into a personalised experience for clients seeking their dream garment for special occasions.

Working with the design and atelier teams, the Bespoke Manager understands the brand vision, quality standards and market needs to create bespoke designs or guide clients to the perfect dress. The role requires a passion for exceptional service and, ideally, a background in design and creativity to assist clients in creating their dream garment.

The Bespoke Manager will manage MTO/MTMB timelines, liaise with the Production Department, collaborate with the retail team and the atelier, and report to the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the full MTO/MTMB customer journey from initial email and appointments through notes, delivery of garment and aftercare.
  • Host client appointments, take notes on all relevant information, and follow up on action points.
  • Maximise sales opportunities by building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Engage with clients around major commercial moments and events (e.g., Ascot, Wimbledon).
  • Manage MTO/MTMB timelines and liaise with internal departments to facilitate processes.
  • Maintain an organised fittings diary with the Retail team and communicate updates company-wide.
  • Collaborate with the atelier to gather quotes, assemble sketch packs, and check fabric availability.
  • Provide technical support to seamstresses, pattern cutters and the production department.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to build brand loyalty.
  • Assist with day-to-day ready-to-wear sales in-store and support bespoke garment care and visual standards.
  • Actively engage with walk-in customers, provide product knowledge, identify new customers, and convert them into loyal clients.
  • Contribute to achieving individual and team sales targets through personalised service and upselling.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in luxury fashion retail or bespoke retail.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised and results-driven.
  • Positive team player with a proactive and self-motivated attitude.
  • Knowledge of garment construction/design is beneficial.
  • Industry awareness and strong knowledge of market trends.
