The Role
As a CAD Technician or Architectural Graduate at EMI Consulting, you’ll play a key role in bringing design concepts to life through detailed technical drawings. Working closely with structural engineers, project leads, and fellow CAD professionals, you’ll support a wide range of residential and commercial construction projects.
You will:
- Drawing & Design Support
- Produce high-quality technical drawings for planning, approval, and construction.
- Interpret architectural and engineering plans with precision and clarity.
- Support project handovers by maintaining organised drawing files and documentation.
- Collaboration & Technical Coordination
- Work closely with internal teams across structural and architectural disciplines.
- Participate in project meetings to align on design intent and revisions.
- Ensure designs meet technical requirements and building regulations.
- Systems & Process Efficiency
- Maintain up-to-date project records in internal systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of drawing standards and workflows.
- Stay informed of software developments and industry best practices.
About You
- Experience
- Degree or diploma in Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or related field.
- Previous experience in a CAD role or placement year (preferred, not required).
- Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit, Tekla, or BIM software is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documents.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
