Location: Home‑based with occasional travel to Memorial House, Coalville, Leicestershire and other locations

Hours: 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday

About the team – and why now is such an exciting time to join

This is an exciting time to join emh Communications team. We’re strengthening how we engage with residents, partners, the media and wider stakeholders, and as part of this, we’re growing the team and creating three brand‑new roles:

  • Digital Communications Officer
  • Internal Communications Advisor
  • External Communications Officer

These new roles give you the opportunity to be part of a newly expanded, collaborative team, helping to shape how we communicate externally and how the organisation is seen and understood. You’ll join at a key point of change and growth, with real scope to influence approaches, build relationships and make a visible impact.

The role

As our External Communications Officer, you’ll support the delivery of high‑quality external communications, media relations and stakeholder engagement activity that protects and enhances emh group’s reputation. Working closely with the Senior External Communications Advisor and colleagues across the growing Communications team, you’ll help produce clear, accessible and engaging content for external audiences, support media activity and contribute to proactive reputation‑building across local communities and the wider housing sector. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing compelling content, building relationships and working in a fast‑paced environment where no two days are the same.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience producing high‑quality written content for external audiences
  • Understands media, PR and reputation management principles
  • Is confident working across multiple channels, including web and social media
  • Can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a growing team

Experience in housing, local government, the public sector or a regulated environment is welcomed but not essential.
