Procurement Advisor

Based – Homebased with a designated office of Memorial House Coalville, Leicestershire (This role will require you to attend the office at least 1/ 2 days per week)

Hours – 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 hour for lunch each day

Salary – £38,243 to £42,492 gross per annum (RFJ 8)

The role of our Procurement Team is to help our companies spend their money in the best way possible, and make sure we follow all UK public procurement law when they do it. We can make a real difference in helping every pound spent resulting in the best possible outcomes for our residents and communities.

Due to growth, we\’re recruiting a new Procurement Advisor.

Your role

You\’ll report to the Head of Procurement, and work alongside another advisor.

You\’ll be contracted for 35 hours a week, but it\’s mostly up to you how and when you\’ll work within those hours to meet your objectives. You\’ll mostly work from home. When you first start, you\’ll work from our head office in Coalville every Monday and Thursday. After your six month probation this will change to just every Thursday, and when required for specific meetings or training and similar.

You\’ll need to have a suitable space to work at home, with a reliable internet connection. You\’ll need to commute to our head office, so if you don\’t live in the area we\’ll need to know your plans.

You\’ll be guiding budget holders on procurement of their contracts, managing competitive tender processes for them, and helping them manage those contracts. You\’ll help produce strategies for the procurement and re-procurement of long-term contracts. You\’ll review purchase requests and make sure they follow our regulations, and a range of other procurement tasks.

The areas of expenditure you\’ll focus on will be on corporate and support (ICT, HR, finance / legal / professional / business services) but as part of the team you will work on other projects too.

You\’ll be paid a starting salary of £38,243 (90% of the full rate for the job). After your six-month probation this will increase to £40,367 (95% of the full rate). After two years you\’ll be paid the full salary of £42,492. These may be subject to inflationary increases too.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level or equivalent, or alternatively a qualification in a procurement-specific field or equivalent Qualification to Membership level of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (‘MCIPS\’) is an essential criteria
