JOB TITLE: Fibre Splicer
ABOUT THE ROLE
A BRIEF SUMMARY
The role will be predominantly site-based, supporting our Outside Broadcast operation at locations across the globe. You will work closely with our rigging teams on site - with a predominance towards supporting the European Tour Golf contract - including occasional requirements to work from our premises in High Wycombe. Working on site is fast-paced and requires a positive attitude, excellent attention to detail, strong timekeeping, and a consistently high standard of workmanship.
Working location: High Wycombe base. On location around the world
Weekly hours: 240 days per year, variable working hours. On site work
Reporting to: Rigging Supervisor / Unit Manager
Role type: Permanent
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Working independently or as part of a team, you will ensure all fibre cables are expertly spliced, tested, fully operational, and ready for use across a variety of projects. This includes but is not limited to:-
·Stripping of fibre cables
·Cleaning of fibre cables
·Splicing of fibre cables
·Testing and checking measurements
·Protecting and securing the fibre cables
·Fault finding
·Assisting the rigging team
·Derigging of cables
All employees are expected to contribute and participate in work activities in line with our management system to ensure the continual improvement of our business.
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU
·Proven experience and strong technical knowledge of fibre-optic cabling.
·Demonstrable experience using fusion splicing machines and associated testing equipment.
·A positive, professional attitude with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
·Ability to work efficiently and confidently in a fast-paced, live-event environment.
·Excellent timekeeping, reliability, and organisational skills.
·A high level of attention to detail, particularly when splicing, testing, and fault-finding.
·A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to work across different locations and projects.
·A full, valid driving licence.
