We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a high-performing Change Management function, delivering complex, business-critical transformation initiatives across a diverse portfolio at a mid-sized financial services firm. This is a pivotal role where you’ll take ownership of end-to-end delivery, leading cross-functional teams and working closely with technology stakeholders operating in modern DevSecOps environments. You’ll play a key role not just in delivery, but in shaping best practice and developing capability within the wider project management community primarily focused on delivering changes in the life insurance business.

The Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-priority and complex change initiatives from mobilisation through to completion. Projects will vary in scope and scale, offering a dynamic and challenging environment. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party partners to ensure outcomes are aligned to strategic objectives and deliver real business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, mobilisation, and successful delivery of complex projects
  • Own project governance including scope, plans, RAID logs, budgets, and reporting
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams working within DevSecOps frameworks
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals and outcomes
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change controls
  • Track and report on project performance, ensuring delivery stays on time and within budget
  • Manage third-party suppliers and ensure seamless integration with internal delivery teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery standards and frameworks
  • Support and mentor other Project Managers, including line management responsibilities

About You

You’re an experienced project delivery professional with a strong track record of leading complex programmes in the financial services ideally with experience in the life insurance sector. You’re comfortable operating at pace, navigating ambiguity, and influencing at senior levels.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale or enterprise-wide projects
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement at executive level
  • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, MSP), with the ability to adapt your approach
  • Experience of working in the financial services industry with a particular focus on life insurance
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and outsourced delivery partners
  • Strong commercial acumen, including budget management and benefits realisation
  • Resilient, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability
