A boutique consulting firm is seeking a Senior Associate (Business Analyst) to join its Consulting Services transformation team, supporting a large-scale T+1 regulatory delivery programme within Capital Markets. This is a client-facing role embedded within a major regulatory initiative at a global investment bank, while remaining part of the firm’s internal consulting practice. The role offers strong exposure to Capital Markets operations, regulatory change, and enterprise-scale transformation programmes.
The Role
You will operate as a Business Analyst within a regulatory delivery stream, supporting Europe’s transition to a T+1 settlement cycle. Working closely with Operations, Technology, and Compliance teams, you will contribute to requirements refinement, stakeholder coordination, process documentation, and testing activities. This opportunity is well suited to a junior-to-intermediate consultant looking to deepen their regulatory and post-trade Capital Markets experience while working alongside senior programme leaders and subject matter experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of a T+1 Europe regulatory workstream through business analysis, documentation, and coordination across Operations, Technology, and Compliance.
- Assist in refining high-level requirements into detailed business and functional requirements.
- Document current-state and future-state processes across clearing, settlement, and post-trade operational flows.
- Produce and maintain key project artefacts, including:
- Business requirements and functional specifications
- Process flows and workflow diagrams
- Data mappings and dependency documentation
- Testing and UAT support materials
Required Experience
- 3–6 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or consultant within Financial Services.
- Foundational understanding of Capital Markets post-trade processes (clearing, settlement, trade lifecycle).
- Experience supporting regulatory or large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Exposure to testing or UAT support within structured delivery environments.
- Excellent documentation skills with strong attention to detail and audit readiness.
- Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced, evolving regulatory programmes.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with confidence engaging Operations and Technology stakeholders.
- Willingness to work onsite in a client environment 3–4 days per week.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to T+1 settlement initiatives or similar post-trade regulatory change programmes.
- Familiarity with European market infrastructure and settlement models.
- Experience working with QA teams or contributing to test planning and execution.
- Background supporting Capital Markets regulatory, controls, or operational risk initiatives.
- Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments (e.g. JIRA, Confluence).
- Previous consulting experience balancing client delivery with internal firm expectations.
