Emeya Recruitment are partnering with a leading engineering contractor to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on Hinkley Point C, one of the largest and most significant infrastructure projects currently under construction in Europe. The Opportunity
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be embedded within the Hinkley Point C delivery team, supporting the commercial management of key work packages from procurement through to project completion. You will work alongside experienced commercial and operational professionals, helping to drive project performance whilst ensuring contractual compliance and commercial success. This role is ideally suited to an ambitious individual looking to further their career within the nuclear and energy sectors and gain exposure to one of the most prestigious projects in the UK construction and engineering market.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial support across multiple project workstreams and packages.
- Administer and manage contracts in accordance with NEC contractual principles and procedures.
- Prepare and assess applications for payment, variations, change control, and final account submissions.
- Support the management of compensation events, early warning notices, and contractual communications.
- Monitor project costs, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Assist with subcontract procurement and ongoing subcontractor account management.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Produce accurate commercial reports and support project forecasting activities.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, planners, and operational teams to achieve project objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and key project stakeholders.
About You
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management position within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or building services.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and their practical application.
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within the Energy and Nuclear sectors.
- Understanding of Mechanical Services, HVAC systems, or MEP installations would be highly advantageous.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proactive approach with a desire to learn, develop, and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline, or possess equivalent industry experience.
