We are working with a leading consultancy business that is seeking an experienced Electrical Subject Matter Expert to support the delivery of major data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects across Europe.
As an Electrical Subject Matter Expert, you will provide senior technical leadership across site due diligence, detailed design, construction administration and commissioning phases. You will be responsible for reviewing, coordinating and providing expert technical input to ensure electrical infrastructure is designed and delivered in line with project requirements, operational objectives and industry standards.
The Role
The Electrical Subject Matter Expert will lead and coordinate the electrical engineering aspects of complex data centre projects, working closely with internal teams, engineering consultants, contractors, vendors and client stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the design and technical coordination of LV and HV electrical systems.
- Provide Electrical Subject Matter Expert input across data centre design, construction and delivery.
- Oversee the design and implementation of UPS systems, standby generators, switchgear, transformers and power distribution systems.
- Develop and review critical power architectures, including N+1, 2N and 2N+1 redundancy and resilience strategies.
- Review and approve electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment schedules and technical documentation.
- Provide technical assurance throughout site due diligence, detailed design and construction administration.
- Ensure electrical systems comply with applicable IEC, IEEE, BS and local electrical standards and regulations.
- Support electrical capacity planning, load forecasting and energy efficiency strategies.
- Coordinate electrical requirements with mechanical, telecommunications, controls, security and architectural disciplines.
- Provide Electrical Subject Matter Expert support during equipment selection, procurement and vendor engagement.
