Senior MEP Design & Engineering Project Manager – Data Centres

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Design & Engineering Project Manager to support the delivery of major data centre and mission-critical projects across Paris and the wider French market.

This is a senior engineering and design leadership position for an accomplished professional with the ability to manage complex MEP design and engineering activities across multiple concurrent projects.

The role will work closely with clients, consultants, designers, contractors, suppliers and specialist technical teams to ensure projects are technically coordinated, commercially aligned and delivered to the required standards.

While the position covers the wider MEP environment, a strong Mechanical Engineering background is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate MEP design and engineering activities across multiple projects.
  • Provide senior technical oversight of mechanical systems and critical infrastructure.
  • Manage the design process from concept and detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Review technical designs, specifications, drawings, calculations and engineering submissions.
  • Challenge design solutions and identify opportunities for technical improvement, risk reduction and value engineering.
  • Manage interfaces between Mechanical, Electrical, CSA, Controls and Commissioning disciplines.
  • Coordinate external consultants, designers, contractors and specialist suppliers.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet programme, quality and technical requirements.
  • Identify design risks, technical dependencies and potential programme impacts at an early stage.
  • Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an established senior engineering professional with significant experience in MEP design, engineering management, design management or technical project delivery.

You should have

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing engineering and design activities on large, technically complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC, cooling, ventilation and chilled-water systems.
  • A broad understanding of electrical systems and wider MEP infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external engineering consultants.
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle, from design development through construction and commissioning.
  • The confidence and technical credibility to challenge consultants, contractors and engineering teams at senior level.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and client-facing skills.
  • Strong programme, commercial and risk awareness.
  • Data Centre Experience

Previous experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities or other high-availability environments is highly desirable.

  • Candidates should ideally understand the technical requirements associated with:
  • Critical cooling infrastructure
  • HVAC and ventilation systems
  • Chilled-water systems
  • Mechanical and electrical resilience
  • Redundancy and availability
  • BMS and controls integration
  • MEP coordination
  • Commissioning and testing
  • Technical risk management
  • Operational continuity

Experience delivering complex data centre projects from design through construction and commissioning will be particularly advantageous.
