Cost Estimator – Nuclear Sector

We’re looking for a motivated Cost Estimator to join our growing team in the Manchester area. The Role

As a Cost Estimator, you’ll work closely with commercial, engineering and project delivery teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and support the successful delivery of major engineering projects within the nuclear industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and pricing submissions.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Producing quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns.
  • Working closely with engineering, procurement and project teams.
  • Supporting tender submissions and bid activities.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Helping to develop and improve estimating processes.

About You

We’re looking for individuals with strong technical or commercial knowledge who are keen to develop their career as a Cost Estimator. You’ll ideally have experience in one of the following areas:

  • Cost estimating within an engineering environment.
  • MEP or HVAC projects.
  • Commercial or quantity surveying roles.

You’ll also have:

  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and estimating software would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
