Our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team in the Manchester/North West region. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer with around 3-6 years experience to work on complex engineering and design projects while receiving the support needed to progress towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

With an expanding portfolio of technically complex projects, the successful Mechanical Engineer will work alongside experienced engineers and industry specialists, gaining exposure to every stage of the engineering lifecycle while developing valuable expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing mechanical engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation.
- Developing engineering solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Producing engineering reports, specifications and design documentation.
- Supporting design reviews, technical assessments and engineering calculations.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assisting with technical problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes and engineering best practice.
About You
The ideal Mechanical Engineer will have around 3-6 years industry experience and be looking to continue developing their technical engineering career within the nuclear sector.
You’ll ideally have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Around 3-6 years experience in a mechanical engineering role.
- Experience producing mechanical designs, engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- An understanding of engineering design principles and relevant industry standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Progress towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or the ambition to achieve chartership.
- A full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel to customer and project sites when required.
- The ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
Candidates must therefore have the right to work in the UK and meet the eligibility requirements for security clearance. Previous experience within the nuclear sector is advantageous but not essential. Candidates from other highly regulated or complex engineering environments are encouraged to apply.
