Working within the nuclear sector, you’ll become part of a collaborative engineering team supporting major programmes from concept design through to detailed engineering and project delivery. The Role
- Produce high-quality mechanical designs for a range of complex engineering projects.
- Develop 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Prepare design calculations, technical specifications, reports, and engineering documentation.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver practical and innovative design solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, hazard studies, and technical workshops.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Support projects throughout the design lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design and implementation.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and project teams to ensure successful technical delivery.
About You
- Experience in mechanical design within engineering, manufacturing, energy, process, or building services environments.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
- The ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to engineering design.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience within the nuclear sector is advantageous but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates working in industries such as defence, aerospace, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or heavy engineering who are looking to build a rewarding career in nuclear engineering.
