Part Time/Flexible Hours - Electrical Design Engineer in Cambridge. Are you an Electrical Design engineer from a Building Services background, looking for the opportunity to work on great projects but do so on a flexible/part time basis (hours to be agreed and are negotiable)? Emeya Recruitment are working with a Building Design consultancy who specialise in decarbonisation on some of the most prestigious buildings in the UK. Acting as a trusted partner, they work with clients offering advice, M&E Design Services and on-site monitoring.

Due to longer term growth and expansion plans, they currently have an opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. The position offers the chance for someone who wants to embrace a flexible working model approach combined with office visits in Cambridge. They can offer flexibility, autonomy and the chance to be part of an exciting growing business.

Electrical Design Engineer Role Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a growing team, to deliver tailored decarbonisation solutions on a range of prestigious often historic buildings.
  • Combine your engineering talent with client advisory.
  • Delivering strategic studies, feasibility, Electrical Design RIBA 1-6 and monitor contractors on site including heritage buildings.
  • Work closely with architects and other stakeholders to produce tangible MEP Designs including layout drawings, schematics and specifications.
  • Attend client/site visits, working closely with the contractors on site.
  • Build long term relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Electrical Design Engineer ideal profile:

  • Shares a passion for making a positive impact towards a sustainable climate future.
  • Degree qualified within an Electrical/Engineering related field.
  • Ideally working towards CEng or interested in doing so.
  • 4-5 years minimum experience within Electrical Engineering/Design/Sustainability.
  • You must be proficient in producing Electrical Designs within Building Services.
  • Strong Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Previous experience using Revit is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience producing technical reports, drawings and specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working on your own initiative either from home, office or site visits.
  • Flexible approach to work and happy to hold yourself accountable.
