Join Our Team as an After School Club Assistant at Blackhorse Primary School!
Start date: As soon as possible
Hours: 15 per week (Monday to Friday, 3.15pm-3.30pm, term time only excluding INSET days)
Salary (Actual): £8,839.25 per annum
Contract: Permanent

The Role
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to a child’s day? We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity in our After School Club to continue our provision of wrap around care.
In this position you will create a welcoming and supportive environment for the members of the club. Working alongside two other after school club assistants you will be responsible for the management of the behaviour of members of the club, assist with the tidying of the venue after use and prompt children for taking responsibility for housekeeping. You will support the aims and ethos of the school, be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
The successful candidates will:
- Be passionate about making a difference to all children
- Have experience of supporting children, ideally within a pre-school, school setting or classroom environment
- Have experience of working with children
- Be willing to engage in further training
- Have the ability to establish good working relationships with a wide range of colleagues, children and families
- Have two fully supportive employment references
- Be aspirational for every child and believe that all pupils can learn – even if they haven’t learnt something yet
Fluency Duty
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Blackhorse Primary School is a two-form entry primary school and a founding member of The Leaf Trust, a family of 18 schools (14 primary, 2 junior and 2 infant), united by a shared commitment to creating outstanding learning environments rooted in our local communities.
