Are you a professional seeking a new challenge in a dynamic and fast developing business? We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Emerson’s Cumbernauld site, supporting our Gas Analysis business. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will guide procurement, warehousing, inventory control, and logistics to enable safe, reliable, cost‑effective delivery. You will partner across Operations, Production, Quality, Engineering, and global suppliers to strengthen performance, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement—bringing Emerson’s values of innovation, integrity, collaboration, and inclusion to life every day.

If this sounds appealing to you, we encourage your application!

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead site supply chain operations across procurement, material planning, inventory control, logistics, and warehouse activities to support production and customer delivery.
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters within the MRP system to enable timely, reliable procurement and scheduling decisions.
  • Own supplier management for a defined portfolio: build strong relationships with strategic partners, maintain supplier performance, and support issue resolution and escalation.
  • Drive cost and value initiatives across existing materials and services, partnering with stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements while maintaining quality and continuity.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of supply chain and procurement professionals; promote teamwork, psychological safety, and consistent ways of working.
  • Strengthen inventory management through practical controls and improvement projects: replenishment accuracy, inventory integrity, reduction initiatives, and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Ensure alignment across planning, procurement, logistics, production, and quality to enable smooth material flow and rapid issue resolution.
  • Lead continuous improvement within the supply chain function (Kaizen events, root‑cause problem solving, standard work), acting as the escalation point for supply chain issues.

Who You Are:

  • You take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • You plan and prioritise work to meet commitments aligned with organisational goals, balancing near‑term execution with longer‑term resilience.
  • You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives, connecting stakeholders across functions and suppliers.
  • You consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances, using data, sound judgement, and a steady focus on delivery.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Demonstrated capability leading procurement and supply chain execution in a manufacturing environment, with accountability for service, cost, and inventory outcomes.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
  • People leadership experience, including coaching, performance support, and building inclusive, high‑trust team practices.
  • Working knowledge of material planning principles (forecasting, replenishment, lead times, safety stock, supplier capacity) and the discipline to maintain strong planning parameters.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with the ability to translate demand and supply signals into clear priorities and actions.
  • Understanding of inventory control practices, warehouse operations, and logistics fundamentals (inbound/outbound shipping, carrier management, delivery performance).
  • Effective communication skills, able to collaborate across Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and external suppliers.
  • Experience using an MRP/ERP system to manage planning and purchasing (hands‑on), with comfort working with data, exceptions, and operational metrics.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP in a planning/procurement context, including parameter governance and disciplined message management.
  • Knowledge of logistics compliance considerations (trade documentation, shipment planning, carrier performance management) within a regulated or global supply environment.
  • Professional supply chain/procurement training or certification (for example CIPS) or equivalent demonstrated capability through experience and results.
