Electronics Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in Cumbernauld, Scotland.

As part of Emerson’s Gas Analysis business, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of innovative electronic solutions that help customers analyze gases with greater speed and accuracy across a range of industrial and life science applications.

In this role, you will support new product development, product lifecycle activities, and regulatory testing while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions from concept through manufacturing.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Develop innovative and reliable electronic design solutions that meet product and customer requirements.
  • Partner with manufacturing suppliers and internal stakeholders to successfully transfer designs into production.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, bills of materials, and test procedures.
  • Develop design verification plans and perform verification activities in accordance with established processes.
  • Support electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, including planning, pre-compliance evaluation, troubleshooting, and external laboratory testing.
  • Create factory acceptance test procedures for externally manufactured printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Support existing and legacy electronic products through sustaining engineering activities.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance products, processes, and customer outcomes.
  • Collaborate across engineering, operations, quality, and manufacturing teams to achieve project and business objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, efficiency, and reliability.

For This Role, You Will Need

  • Degree, technical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience designing analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits.
  • Experience with board bring-up, troubleshooting, debugging, and electronic test methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues and develop practical, effective solutions.
  • Experience using electronic simulation tools to support design and validation activities.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart

  • Experience supporting products throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development through manufacturing and sustaining engineering.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and external suppliers.
  • Familiarity with EMC compliance requirements and testing methodologies.
  • Experience creating manufacturing documentation, verification plans, and test procedures.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, gas analysis, process automation, or related industrial technologies.
  • Experience contributing to cross-functional or global project teams.
