The Worldwide Product Engineering department operates across Austin, Leicester, and Manila, providing third-level customer support on issues related to Emerson’s products. This team works closely with Emerson’s Marketing and Technology on the development of next-generation products and provides DeltaV consulting and software upgrade services to customers. This role, based at Emerson’s Leicester office, is part of a global team of Product Engineers within the Customer Support organization, which delivers frontline technical support. This position is ideal for problem solvers who thrive on engaging with customers across a wide range of topics. Success in this role is driven by the product engineer’s technical expertise and their ability to build relationships with our global end users. We are seeking candidates who enjoy working with diverse customers and developing long-term partnerships based on trust and collaboration. In addition to customer-facing responsibilities, Product Engineers can collaborate with various Emerson teams worldwide, gaining broad exposure across the organization. Comprehensive training on DeltaV and related technologies will be provided as needed to support ongoing development and maintain technical proficiency.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide support for Emerson’s Automation products and solutions.
- Work directly with customers, Emerson Technical Support offices or representatives, Global Service Center (GSC) engineers and development engineers on technical solutions to DeltaV applications.
- Provide feedback to our Product Marketing & Technology teams regarding end user requirements.
- Play a part in the roll out of the support package for those products.
- Have early access to products to provide feedback and develop early support knowledge before release.
- Create and update Knowledge Base Article content to inform the field about Product Information.
- Generate close consultative long-term relationships with key Emerson customers to assist with their automation and operational needs.
- Travel (estimate 2-5 trips/year, typically a week or less per trip) to customer sites.
- Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent is preferable.
- 5+ years of experience with Emerson’s automation systems and/or DeltaV peripheral products and/or DeltaV lifecycle products is required.
- Ability to work directly with the end user resolving system issues on a running process.
- To be a creative problem solver.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English, is required to collaborate with a global customer base.
- Legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom – sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Detailed knowledge of DeltaV Live would be an advantage.
- Previous experience of working with remote engineering teams.
