About the Role: We are seeking a Machine shop Steel Storeman to join our team. You will play a key role in organising raw materials & bought out parts to support our machine shop.

Responsibilities include:

  • Good Inwards booking in of all machine shop items and raw materials.
  • Booking in of all subcontract machined parts prior to final inspection.
  • Sawing of all raw materials as specified.
  • Stage inspection of purchased fabricated parts.
  • Control of material stock levels & reporting shortages to planning team.
  • Transferring of raw materials to machining departments.
  • Unloading of raw material deliveries when required using forklift truck.
  • Moving raw material bars using overhead crane.
  • Help improve safety, quality and productivity through the continual improvement process.
  • Follow written instructions, safe working practices and to always maintain a safe working environment.

Key Attributes:

  • Be able to use a computer for stock control, timesheets and emails.
  • Evidence of training in safe use of overhead cranes & forklift truck essential.
  • Be able to use measuring equipment for cutting raw materials using power saws.
  • Be able to read engineering drawings is an advantage.
