Information about the Course Facilitator role: Emeritus is seeking a Course Facilitator in The Science of Leadership: The Brain, Resilience and Mindfulness for Harvard Medical School – Online Program. The Course Facilitator is a subject matter expert that serves as the front-line academic support for learners in the course. Candidates must have industry experience and demonstrated knowledge of the course subject area. They will guide learners through complex topics like neuroscience of leadership, emotional intelligence frameworks, and organizational changes and transformations in real-world context. This is a great role for someone who wants work flexibility and the chance to diversify their resume with consultancy and teaching experience. This is an independent contractor position in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities of the Course Facilitator include but are not limited to:
- Learn the program content including video content, discussion topics, assignments, knowledge checks/quizzes and other LMS activities to enable Consultant to perform the Services hereunder.
- Moderate weekly discussion boards: respond to learner questions within 24 hours, share relevant articles/materials, when necessary, and encourage learner participation.
- Grade and provide written feedback on program assignments within 4 days of submission by participant as required by customer of the Company.
- Respond promptly to participant questions relating to the program.
- Meet with Company’s Academic Delivery team from time to time if required by customer of the Company.
- Host weekly live sessions and the Introductory webinar for participants.
- Moderate faculty sessions where required.
Qualifications for the Course Facilitator role:
- 10+ years of extensive work experience in the field of Leadership, organizational development, wellness, psychology, or any related field.
- A degree plus MBA from a top university and certification in coaching.
- Solid experience providing guidance and support to individuals looking to improve how they manage stress and recovery.
- Experience coaching and mentoring in a leadership or management setting.
- Experience implementing change management, and planning for the future.
- Experience creating and implementing transformation strategies or projects.
- Proven Experience creating plans for a sustained leadership effectiveness.
- Experience supporting executive or mid-career professionals in continuing education is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills with an ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain a mutual comfort level while working with a diverse population.
- Ability to translate technical content into actionable insights.
- Empathetic and learner-centered approach.
- Comfortable in an online environment, navigating LMS platforms (Canvas), Zoom, Slack, or similar environments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage weekly cycles of engagement and support.
Program Description and Context:
Harvard Medical School’s Leadership by Design: Brain Science, Mindfulness, and Emotional Intelligence is a six-module, six-week online program developed in collaboration with Harvard Medical School. Once defined by expertise alone, today’s leadership demands emotional clarity, resilience, and the ability to create trust and psychological safety within teams. By the end of the program participants will have gain understanding of how the brain drives behavior, focus, and decision-making. The importance of emotional intelligence tools to strengthen empathy, trust, and communication. Strategies to prevent burnout and sustain long-term brain health and leadership effectiveness and practical methods to lead diverse, high-performing, and resilient teams.
Duration: 6 weeks (estimated learner commitment: 4–5 hours/week).
Structure: Blend of asynchronous Canvas activities and live Zoom sessions.
Target Audience: Mid- to senior-level professionals and leaders seeking to integrate neuroscience-based insights, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness practices needed to thrive in complex, fast-changing environments.
