Our behaviour change services provide a confidential space to share experiences and offer practical support to those wanting to change. The Emerging Futures accredited coach training develops our volunteers' skills, motivating them to give back and reconnect with their community.
About the role
As a Housing Support Worker, you will support individuals with a history of drug and/or alcohol issues who are abstinent and residing in supported housing. You will assist with daily project operations and coordinate residents' care, including referrals, move-in plans, assessments, and case notes. You will collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to provide interventions supporting recovery and independent living. You will work alongside colleagues providing psychological therapies to enhance residents' wellbeing. You will ensure residents' safety and engagement in positive activities within the community to support their recovery. The role requires working flexibly across different sites and some evenings and weekends.
About you
This is an entry-level role; training will be provided to enable confident, holistic, person-centred delivery. Candidates may have experience supporting people with complex needs, challenging behaviours, substance misuse, or criminal backgrounds, and supporting life changes. You may also have:
- Experience or understanding of supporting personal strengths and tenancy sustainability within supported housing.
- Specialist harm reduction experience.
- Experience in developing partnerships and working collaboratively.
- A coaching, counselling, or Health and Social Care qualification.
- An understanding of the effects of drug and alcohol misuse and offending on health, social welfare, housing, employment, and relationships.
