About the role
As a Community Support Worker, you will lead the recruitment, training, deployment, and supervision of Volunteer Recovery and Family Coaches across local recovery services and hospitals.
You will create opportunities for volunteers to support community-based recovery, wellbeing, and family services, while raising awareness of volunteering within Emerging Futures.
You’ll support volunteer development, helping them build skills and explore pathways into paid roles within EF and partner organisations.
You will also be trained to deliver structured behaviour change programmes to individuals in treatment across the city.
In addition, you’ll promote access to mutual aid, education, employment, and community activities, supporting long-term recovery and reintegration. Programme delivery may extend across the wider county.
You will be required to work flexibly from different sites and be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
You will have experience of supporting people to achieve behaviour change as well as delivering training and group work. You should also have:
- Knowledge, experience or understanding of coaching models and mentorship.
- Experience of effective, purposeful and active partnership working.
- Experience of using data collection systems and Microsoft Office.
- An understanding of the harmful effects associated with drug and alcohol misuse and offending in relation to health, social welfare, housing, employability and personal relationships.
