As the Business Development Manager for Scotland and North East England, you will be responsible for formulating and executing sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and market share in the region. This position reports to the Director of Business Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Growth: Build, grow and expand new sales pipelines in both existing and emerging markets, leveraging our competitive advantages in supply chain, global sourcing and technical services.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities, developing and nurturing strong relationships with key customers.
  • Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitive landscape to identify areas of growth and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive and expand market share and ensure that competitors' information is tracked for strategic action plans.
  • Build a strategy for growth in the region, driving operational excellence with on-time delivery and conduct net promoter surveys.
  • Relationship Management: Collaborate with all branch operation managers to establish a total supply management program (VMI/JIT/Kanban projects) to key strategic customers across the UK South region.
  • Align all sales and marketing actions with the internal team in Supply Technologies.
  • Align with the engineering team, formulate and execute product solution strategy, tapping on the latest technology trends and strategic customers' demands.
  • Other Duties: Undertake necessary travel to branch/area locations in performing above duties.
  • Work with Finance to undertake profitability and Return On Net Asset (RONA) reviews.
  • Any other duties as defined by management.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Relevant working experience in a similar field and function.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market share.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Strength in problem solving, issue-resolution and ability to multitask.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to use data and metrics to present and back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Proficient in CRM tools and pipeline management.
  • Negotiating skills with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders, fostering collaboration across functional teams.
